RIFF: R.E.D. INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Save the dates for the next festival:
5-12 July 2019
Thank you for a great festival in 2018: 39 international films was selected from 19 countries, whereas 3 from Norway.
We was showing films at our Drive-in Movie Theatre in EINAWOOD every night, Alain El Sakhawi and Yikai Wu were our Shooting Stars and we had interesting panels and discussion.
About the festival:
This festival was born in July 2015. It is settled on a farm over looking Eina Lake, just outside Oslo. Surrounded by breathtaking Norwegian countryside.
Its mission is to build a bridge between the different fields of performing- and visual art, and the film industry; hence the subtitle: dance- art- cinema. The festival aims to show films that have a strong element of movement and dance including interdisciplinary expressions such as screendance, art films, to the more traditional and conventional short films and full feature films.
The name of the festival, RIFF, was not chosen only because of the initials, but it was also an election because of the meaning of the word used in jazz, riff is supposed to be a music phrase that is improvised, creative, energetic, outpouring. And we wanted to relate our festival to such ideas of freedom in creation.
We would be delighted if RIFF can grow to be an important arena to show films of excellence; a platform to give workshops and master talks; a place for invited guests and public to share thoughts, knowledge and experiences.
Yolanda M. Guadarrama from Mexico City has been invited to be the curator of RIFF in collaboration with Ella Fiskum.
